Rob Cowan will be in Adelaide on 2 and 3 October. Planning SA is coordinating the visit and a flurry of activities are planned to engage with a range of audiences and decision makers. The Australian Institute of Urban Studies will host a special luncheon address and the Adelaide City Council and Planning Education Foundation will jointly present a public forum which, based on previous such events, should attract a large audience on the first evening. The Land Management Corporation intends to use the opportunity to review urban design policy for planned broad-acre housing developments at the northern and southern edges of the city. Cowan is also to be invited to participate in the third of the University of South Australia’s ‘Every City’ conversations, entitled ‘Edifice’, which will explore notions of the interface between architecture and urban design. In the unlikely event that this leaves him a spare moment, meetings with politicians and bureaucrats can be engineered! Further Adelaide details from Peter Dungey at [email protected]
