A UDF reader sent the following letter in response to the September edition of Urban Design Forum.
‘I could not disagree more with Peter Droege’s headline in the last Urban Design Forum, “Political party platforms disappoint”. A more accurate headline would have said “Coalition and Labour Platforms disappoint”. The Greens and Democrats had some specific good ideas to share about the future of cities, in contrast to the non-answers received from the two main parties. As a Canadian newcomer to Australia, I cannot vote, and the next issue of UDF will come out after the election, but I would like to think that people who are concerned about urban design and sustainability issues would give their preferences to the smaller parties who are actually treating these issues – and the readers of UDF – seriously.’
